We are looking for photo and story submission. They don't have to be high caliber, even if it is just a small note of a trip that you have been on that you want to share with with our program!

The Outdoor Recreation Student Society is a team dedicated to the growth and development of both the society itself and the program. Through our development fund any student is able to apply for funding contributing to their personal development while giving back to the society.

All Within One Hour

Whether You are new to the area or just looking to explore something new we have countless places to explore! The best part is that all of these places are within one hour of the Lakehead University Campus! So pack your bags and let's go.


The Outdoor Recreation Student Society (ORSS) is a non-profit, volunteer club for Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism (ORPT) students at Lakehead University.


Courses offered in the past include Standard First Aid, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, NLS, Wilderness First Aid/Responser, and Firearms. Through the semester, we will advertise which courses will be available for this school year.
